Increasing monthly bill - Becoming fed up with Koodoo

I used to have a monthly bill of approx. 45-50 $ monthly, all of a sudden in May it skyrocketed to over 70 $... I paid it each time, realizing I had went over my minutes (I had an idea I might have but wasn't totally sure).. so I paid it again... by July I changed my plan to be 50 or 55 $ /month plan ... and now I have a bill for 88 $ and I havn't even used my phone much cause I've been bus with work - I've just been texting.  I'm getting fed up with Koodoo's bullshit and I'm about to go with another service provider.  Not to mention my shitty phone I have Samsung Grand Prime I've had for a year... worst phone ever.  I'm starting to regret koodoo.. if I wanted to get screwed I would go to Rogers or Bell.

The reason you were charged 88$ is because you changed your plan half way or partially through the billing cycle and your plan was most likely pro rated. This is absolutely normal and also happens with your first ever bill after signing up.

You will also see the detailed proration breakdown alongside the full breakdown on page 3 of your bill. You can opt for the 55 2gb unlimited talk plan if you haven't done so And never get dinged with overages again for talk. As for your phone, well I personally recommend against low tier Samsung phones because they're generally much less capable of handling TouchWiz in the long run and are poor value for what you pay, but I wouldn't blame Koodo for your phone slowing down. Most Carriers carried it and would you have picked a different phone if you were with anyone else ?

So you're saying the 33 minutes I have been on hold .. I should just give up and expect a lower bill next month?

or should I still talk to them?

In my opinion it will go back down and we see this all the time. The best time to change ur plan to avoid these bills is the day your cycle resets and u can find that in self serve.

Well you likely to dinged on the proration thing and that's where the overage came from. I mentioned lookin at pag 3 as that will break it down for you. If that's the case then you could still talk and try to get the rep to throw you a bone but they are not under any obligation to. You should absolutely get a lower bill next month.

@ Larry, the folks above are correct. The charges on your most current bill are due to proration. Your next bill should be lower as long as you don't go over your allotted minutes which is what happened since May. You can track your minutes use online to make sure this doesn't happen. Your new plan has free evening and weekends starting at 5pm so maybe shifting the calls if possible during that period would also help keep your bill more manageable.
