You're going to need to perform a factory reset First pull out and reinstall the battery. Hold power+home+ volume down to start the process You'll loose all of your settings and data but it's the only way If it doesn't work you'll need to replace your phone.
Ok did it so now what?

Is the device powering on? Is it asking for your password? Or are you just looking at a blank screen?

If you've had it less than a year then you'll need to call Koodo and arrange for warranty service. If you've had it over a year then it's time to get a new phone. But don't worry there are some absolutely fantastic upgrades that are kilometers ahead of your Optimus One. The Moto G tops my list of recommendations, a quad core android with a huge battery life and is running the latest version of android. Camera isn't great but the rest of the device is. Then there's the HTC Desire which has a larger screen and front facing speakers. If you're looking for a keyboard the BlackBerry Q5 has it and a touch screen as well All three are currently 150$ with a tab. Still have a negative tab? You can select to pay it off early and have it billed to your next bill so a new phone won't cost you right away.
I believe it should return to factory defaults and not ask for password if done correctly. did you see the android guy with the arrow pointing up? If not, repeat the steps, remove battery, put it back-phone should still be off>Then hold home+volume down > then hold power button/while still holding the other 2 down. Make sure to keep holding the three buttons until at least past the first screen. you should see the android guy with arrow if done correctly. then should ask you to configure device(as advised all info would be lost)
Ok I have done this two or three times, each time I have to take battery out to shut phone off. when its put back in, I am holding down three buttons, nothing. just goes to home screen and says its preparing SD card. then goes back to android screen and starts all over again
