how much to unlock a koodo phone?


Hi, I'm a current monthly customer with Koodo, I recently upgraded my old Samsung galaxy Ace to a new phone. I want to unlock my old phone to give my mother so she can use a rogers sim card on it. How much does Koodo charge to unlock an existing phone?

Hi William, koodo charges $35 to get an unlock code and you cant request one right through your self serve app. There are also multiple 3rd party sources for you to get an unlock code from. Hope this helps. 🙂

I'll just add that your account has to be in good standing for at least 90 days before Koodo will unlock a phone.

Just wanted to correct Kakarot's typo, to avoid any possible confusion. Should say "can" instead of "cant". And even though this is not regarding an iPhone, for any iPhone users that have this question, you have to call in to get it unlocked. Same price.

Since it is not an iPhone, 3rd party unlockers will be cheaper than Koodo's $35 charge. The phone has already been paid for and the customer is still loyal to Koodo - like me- you shouldn't have to pay to have the phone unlocked.. might as well just chuck into the landfill because it's not worth $35 at this point.
