How much to fix a water damaged screen?

Unfortunately dropped my nexus in the toilet.. Everything seems to be working except the screen. I don't have a warranty so I was wondering, how much to just fix the screen?

Around here the average screen replacement for a Nexus 5 is about $200. However, what kind of damage the water has done to other parts of the phone is unknown. You may need to look at replacing the whole thing. Might be cheaper in the long run, phones don't last long after water gets in them. That $200 screen might not las my as long as you'd like.

I had an iPhone 3Gs go swimming in a local pool. It still works today. Chose not to test in the toilet, though. So I guess YMMV. I take more precautions with my phone now!

It's a gamble really.
I'm willing to take the chance. I just got it two weeks ago I can't pay the tab off .. It's band new.

You can pay the tab off whenever you want. Consider a new phone. Pay the $300 Tab and take a new one. Or Pay $200 to have it crap out 6 months from now and then pay the Tab off which will be roughly another $200 or more. Your choice ultimately but consider all possibilities.

For the price of screen replacement, you should consider getting a 'backup' phone. There's no telling how long that phone will last. We don't know if the phone was completely submerged in water or if exposed for only a few seconds. Water can enter ports and other areas of the phone and eventually cause a short circuit. Whenever a phone is exposed to water, it's best to turn the phone off, remove the battery (if applicable) and SIM card and bury the device in a bowl of rice for up to a week to dissipate as much moisture as possible.
