I have been with Koodo for a long time, and recently switched to a Flip 3 because I wanted to ditch my smartphone and be less distracted, but also have basic functionality. The whole reason for going with this phone was the availability of basic apps via the KaiOS store.
Unfortunately, I am unable to actually open the KaiOS store on my phone. I click on the icon, and I just get an endless “loading” screen. I even turned the screen timeout off, for curiosity, and found that it was still spinning after half an hour.
I did all of the recommended tricks: reset the phone, took out the SIM and battery, updated the system software, etc. There was a suggestion on another similar thread to update the KaiOS store, but unless this is done via the general phone OS update (i.e. system, device, more info, software update), there’s no way to do this specifically (and if it is done the way I described, I’ve already followed that step anyway).
When I first got the phone, I had to manually change the time to pre-2020 just so that the text input work would work (!? but thankfully the most recent update fixed that problem), and I haven’t been able to access the store. Very disappointed. Disappointed too that there are such paltry help offerings from Koodo-- we are basically left to fend for ourselves here in the community and just throw ideas at the wall until something sticks.
