Hello, I had a question. So I renewed my data plan but...

Hello, I had a question. I renewed my data plan this month, and had used 300 or so mbs last month of my 1gig of data, I was also told that data rolls over from month to month so I should have had 1.7gigs give or take by the begining of october. However I just now got a text saying I have used 50% of my data this month. This doesnt sound right at all.

I would suggest you check your usage in selfserve to see how much data has been spent. (you said you have used 300MB lastmonth so you could also find out how much you have spent so far)

Brendon, data does not roll over from month to month. No provider does that currently.

Koodo prepaid data boosters remain on the account until consumed, though, so if your consumption fits the prepaid mould, have a look there!

My usage so far is 253 mbs aug 29 - sept 28 127 mbs sept 29 - oct 28 But even then I still bought another 1 gig at the end of sept, so what happens? It doesnt roll over...but my boosters gone? Im so confused.

Hold on Brendon! Are you on a monthly plan or prepaid? If prepaid, your "Any unused minutes, text or data will be carried over when you renew your base plan."

Then you should be good. Nothing is lost.

I thought any minutes and data in a base plan were only good for 30 days. For example, does the 1GB of data in the $55 / month base plan carry over if unused? I thought only boosters rolled over.

But it is lost, if what you said is true at the start of this month I should have had roughly 1.7 gigs, 1 gig from the new booster and 600- 700 mbs from the last one. Yet I just got a text saying I've used 50%, and my account shows my data at 500mbs/1gig. But I know I purchased that second 1 gig booster.

From the looks of this conversation, I'm not quite convinced you are on prepaid. Did you buy a phone with Koodo and are paying your tab each month? If yes, then you're not on prepaid but on postpaid and data does not roll over to the next month.

Also, what plan are you on?

I buy prepaid cards every month and use them to buy boosters and what I need.

Do you have the $55 base plan? The 1GB of data included with that doesn't roll over. If you separately buy a data booster, 1GB for $30, then that will roll over until the next month.
