It is really weird. After a night with my friends at a bar, I remarked the second day that this had happened to my phone. I DO have a case, it did NOT fall and there's no screen protector on. Seems like it's an bubble under the screen! Also, there's no crack on the phone which is really weird. PS: Being dark outside, I can'T even tell when this happened during the night.

That's not a screen protector that's lifting, correct? Just making sure.

No screen protector but there is a bubble on your screen... What were you doing at the bar... No idea what this could be.

No, but it looks totally like it. I have no screen protector

What was I doing at the bar? Nothing implying breaking a phone. Some dancing, chatting and what people usually do in a bar

Also, I've been going to a Koodo store, and there's nothing those guy could do. They had no idea what this could be. Never seen anything like it

Time for warranty repair, before it's too late.

They said they couldn't even send it to the warranty as they are not sure if it's covered or not...

Yeah I'd personally just send it into Google and not even bother trying to fix/deduct what happened to it, let them sort it out....

It can be viewed as physical damage. As long as the phone still works, I wouldn't worry much about it.

Unless there was visible physical or water/alcohol damage, this looks like a warranty issue. Try another kiosk. Skip the story about the bar.

It looks like the capacitative glass has lifted from the phone's chassis resulting in a bubble or the adhesive no longer making total contact between the two surfaces. Did a small amount of water/alcohol creep seep into the gap and loosening the adhesive? I wouldn't worry too much about it if it doesn't negatively affect usage of the phone. It would be just a cosmetic nuisance.

This is something I can't tell 100%, but my case is covering the area where water could get in! Also, if it would've been water, wouldn't it be not as square as it is right now? Like it's too straight to be water no?

I dunno if Samsung uses laminated plastic to make the front, but this looks like separating layers. I get the same effect when machining G10 (non-conductive epoxy/resin) from the side with an endmill and a rather "generous" feedrate. At the exit pass, I get a little bit of layer separation, and it looks just like this. Try to take the phone out of the case and look at it straight as if you were holding binoculars. If the area that shows this defect looks a bit surelevated, I'd bet on layer separation. EDIT: I mean [i]under the glass screen. I, for one, know that the screen is glass, not plastic.

No, screen looks as good as new! Very weird

It is effectively very weird... My S4 thankfully still looks new, even though I bought it used.

Did you put your phone down at the bar leaving it unattended at any time? I ask because it looks like a fake Galaxy S4, the pattern seems totally different than the real one. I've handle a fake one & I remember the pattern was completely different on the fake & the real one when you look at them side by side & this one doesn't look right at all

Nah, I didn't leave it unattended at any time! Being almost discharged, I didn't even get it out of my pocket so often! Also, I would be pretty dumb not to remark that this wouldn't be my phone. That guy must have been a pro at switching cells, contacts, messages and all things in a so small amount of time!

It must be the way the camera took the pic because the S4 has a pattern of triangles & this doesn't look like triangles, it looks more like a pattern of lines. Thats why I was thinking it looks like a knock off but makes sense that it would take quite a bit to change phones and put your stuff on another one. Plus the easiest way to tell if it's a knock off is it doesn't have the preview feature where you hold your fiddler over the screen about an inch and it gives you a preview of pictures in a folder or website icons ect.

Well, it still has this, so NOPE, it's the real one 😛

I just received this from them today. Don't know what it should mean. Covered by the waranty or not? They're not too clear about it. Anyone?

I'd call that number that is mentioned and ask...
It's the actual digitizer separating from the top glass.
