Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge OS issue

Userlevel 6
We have identified an issue with Samsung’s latest software update for the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge that was released mid-September. The following software versions are affected:• S6 - G920W8VLU2BOH8
• S6 Edge - G925W8VLU2BOH8
Impacted customers were reporting a number of issues including dropped calls, missed calls, delays with incoming SMS/MMS messages and the loss of network connectivity
We are working with Samsung and believe the root cause has been identified. We are currently testing a fix and anticipate its release in the next several weeks. The fix will be made available as an over the air (OTA) SW update to all Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices.
In the meantime, we do not recommend re-flashing your device's modem firmware, as this may void the manufacturer’s warranty.
Keep an eye on this thread – we will be posting updates as they become available.

Any chance this fix will be in the Android Marshmallow 6.0 update? 🙂

Took you guys way too long to bring this up, and I already sold my S6 Edge because of it, it was way too frustrating and annoying.

This issue frustrated  me so much I went back to Apple! But,after a week with the new iPhone 6s I decided it was garbage and brought it back and am sticking it out with my Galaxy S6 until it's fixed. Praying it is soon though! I'm eating through my data so fast when normally I just use 300-450 MB's per cycle out of 2GB's.

@Gerry Hanlon same here, I sold my S6 edge and got the iPhone 6s, and I still like the edge better. But I won't go back to the S6 because by the time they release an update to fix it, the S7 is almost out already, heard they are going to announce the S7 in January, I'd just wait for the next gen.

Paul Deschamps - You are an appointed Koodo rep, of course you will say that

Assad, if you ever real the opinions of other MM you'd see we hold Koodo to a pretty high standard and are quick to criticize them when we don't agree with policy or practises. We are not paid by, nor do we work for Koodo.

Paul is one of Koodo's harshest critics, I invite you to read his other posts before making comments like that. And BTW i had other issues with my S6 edge but found solutions online. I don't have this problem either but I haven't been upgraded to 5.1.1.

Yes, you are appointed by Koodo.

That's an HONORARY appointment. NOT EMPLOYMENT real, imagined and/or otherwise implied.

We earned that appointment http://mobilemasters.koodomobile.com

Yes, you did,

how?

By saying anything to support Koodo's interest. Therefore, Koodo Appointed you.

I never said anywhere that you were a Koodo employee or paid by Koodo.

My argument stands, you can edit that field, that doesn't mean anything.

Ok Assad you win, we are shills for Koodo and we only say good things about them.

I disagree. To many posts to the contrary, by Customers and lessor extent Mobil Masters, Mobil Masters who post and pitch IDEAS to Koodo as possible fixes that address customer complaints.

Alright then, there you go, customers like myself have to step up and make this thread: https://community.koodomobile.com/koodo/topics/fix-samsung-galaxy-s6-not-receiving-calls-on-android-... which now has even MORE dissatisfied customers.

And after Only to have a "Mobile Master" say he has no issues, what a great contribution!

You would think by now that Samsung and the carriers would have figured this out. Problem goes back a few years to devices such as Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy 4, if what we read on these pages is accurate.

Not unique to Koodo. But Samsung seems to quickly lose interest in updating software on models over a year or so old.

Why do you keep saying that Bob that's complete bull, Samsung updates all flagship devices for at least 18 months just like every other major company has the last few years. I have not had any issue with any Samsung devices over the last 3 years and what your reading about the Note 2 was the same guy posting multiple times because he was the only one having the issue and wanted a new device and has since been realized and dealt with. Yes Spence I have 5.1.1 on both s6 & s6 edge with no issues at all.

Maybe the issue arises from 2 of many contractors involved in manufacturing, given the 2 sets of numbers given. Then there is luck of the draw, my s2x got shipped out to be reprogramed, for a phone that did not turn off.

To provide an update, a fix is coming for this issue next week. Watch this thread for updates when it's available.
