Galaxy Note 3 from Wind Mobile brought over.


I brought my Galaxy Note 3 over from Wind to Koodo and noticed it connected to the 3G network. Is it because Wind is currently not using LTE that my phone is not connecting to the LTE network on Koodo?

Does your area have LTE coverage Darrin? Here's the coverage map http://help.koodomobile.com/coverage-long-distance-and-travelling/coverage-maps  But to be honest while LTE is faster, 3g has been perfectly fine for me and drains my battery far less quickly. Anyways, hope that helps 🙂
Thank you and yes, my partner has LTE on his phone (different carrier) but I believe that because Wind hasn't used LTE yet, my GN3 was set up to pick up on LTE frequencies. Is there a way to set my phone to find or is it a case where I need to get a phone from Koodo that does?

Certain carriers have different LTE coverage areas so just because your partner is getting LTE on another carrier in your area doesn't mean your going to get LTE coverage with your carrier. What carrier is your partner with? Rogers?

According to gsmarena, there are a few hardware variations on the Note 3:

Pull the back and maybe the battery to find out exactly your model's capabilities

In Settings => Other settings => Wireless and Networks => Mobile networks => Network Mode => see if LTE is available or has been (de)selected.
