file a complaint


I called Koodo to pay off my TAB so I'd own 2 phones and they gave me a bill for both contracts.  Now I am in the credit bureau with Koodo.  Trying to do something good to get a head and end up in a worse delima.

Can Koodo do anything for me?  They totally misunderstood me.  If you go through a phone recording you will see I clearly said TAB and not CONTRACT.

Who are you dealing with a credit bureau? If you were paying regularly what's the issue? There is no contract with koodo you only pay out the tab balance. Did you end up losing phone service and decide not to pay the final bill? Sorry could you just give more details? Do you want Koodo to bring back your lines?

Koodo does not have contracts. Do you mean that they billed you for the remaining tab on TWO phones? If so, then depending on the tab amount remaining for each phone, you can expect a hefty bill.

Well, I think they do have "contracts", the service agreement is the contract between customers and koodo.

Yes you could consider it a "contract" but the context is in a cellular contract that locks you in for x years getting a subsidized phone and you pay a fee to break it.

I don't know if I understand you. With the CRTC code http://crtc.gc.ca/eng/phone/mobile/codesimpl.htm. you don't pay the fee because of "breaking it". You pay money toward the devices, in this case the "tab", which is clearly written by Koodo.

Contracts, like some of those with Rogers and Bell, will sign you on in a commitment to pay your monthly bill and tab balance. Koodo just signs you on for the phone. It is considered contractless because you aren't signed in on a plan for x amount of time.

@Allan, Koodo require you to have a plan in order to have the Tab on the phone. There is no contract on the phone alone. If you terminate the plan, you terminate the tab.

You could pay off the tab and upgrade your phone with Koodo. Rogers, Bell can also do the same with "early upgrade".

The discussion is really strange, The CRTC has solved this through its code. The naming could be different, but the standard process is there. I would not discuss the semantics again.

Because many people still think contracts as such are a thing. It's still a distinction that need to be made occasionally.
