I don't think they would remove that feature... you're under Settings > Lock Screen, right?
There is an app in Google Play called Visidon AppLock which does a very similar job as the face unlocking feature in the Android. This app does take it one step forward. It can lock certain apps. What that means is that you can prevent people opening applications on your phone. Try this out and let me know how it works for you. Good Luck 🙂
Yeah it was actually removed in the update as you can see. As to why I've got to clue though, maybe it was less secure? :S

Well that's silly! I didn't even know they did that. Huh. I've still got it on my S III running 4.1. Oh well... Steven seems to have offered an alternative, though!

Well the S2x now has 4.1.2 so maybe in the newest version for the s3 it'll be taken out. Either way I'm glad there's an alternative available for those who use it. 🙂
There's an APK available to flash if you like doing that sort of thing.
Could someone post a picture of your data icon? Also does spell check work for you for?

It's strange because there are two different update routes. Kies and Odin. Both fail for more but Odin provides a more complete update. Kies just sucks.
