Does the Nexus 4 16GB from Koodo come with Android 4.3 Jellybean?

I am wondering if the Nexus 4 comes with Android 4.3 or if it comes with 4.2 and you have to update it once you have bought it.

Hi Ben, Most probably it'll come with 4.2, depending on the day it was manufactured 🙂 As you know it's not Koodo who initially installs and then updates the Nexus devices, but Google does 😃

Why do you ask Ben? I have the Koodo Nexus 4 and have Android 4.3 that I got OTA a couple hours after it was announced by Google. So if your worried about waiting you won't have to it will be available as soon as you turn on the phone. Is that your concern or do you have another concern?
Hey paul, I got this nexus 4 yesterday (Aug 23, 2013) and still haven't received the jb 4.3 OTA update. any Ideas?

As of Jellybean Google's built-in a way to manually update your device without loosing any Data on your phone even if your're stock & unrooted! I personally manually updated mine yesterday, was super easy. Long story short, here's how (using a downloaded update file which shouldn't be too large - not the entire image file): 1) Install the latest SDK 2) Install the drivers 3) Connect your device to your PC & enable "USB debugging" 4) Navigate to the "Platform Tools" folder within the SDK folder 5) Launch a Command Prompt window from there 6) Type in adb devices If no devices are listed you'll need to manually find the proper drivers that're included in the SDK folder 7) When ADB has located your device, type in adb reboot recovery This will put your phone into recovery 😎 Using your phone, tap Power & Volume + at the same time (starting with Power) 9) On the next screen using the Volume buttons scrill to "update via adb" & tap "Power" to select it 10) Back on your PC type in the name of the update file (for ease I rename it to "update.zip" & put it into the Platform Tools folder) into the still open Command Prompt adb sideload update.zip When it's done your device will be updated & the phone will still be kept as it was before you applied the update ***Trouble Shooting*** If your ADB on step 10 doesn't find a device anymore now that it's in recovery, read this--> http://blog.dantup.com/2012/10/fixing-adb-device-not-found-with-nexus-7-in-recovery-mode (just change the "Nexus 7" parts to "Nexus 4" in those instructions)
Thanks for the reply John! Now Next question, Where do I get the update file from?

Google provides the files, but here's the link (minor 1.8MB update going from 4.3 Build JWR66V to JWR66Y: Nexus 4 - http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_mako/6136cbe0fb21994b8bd463d137ac75b953ba8e9b.signed-occam-JWR66Y-from-JWR66V.6136cbe0.zip If you're on a different Build than JWR66V that file won't work. If you're trying to update from 4.2 - 4.3 you'll need to find the files elsewhere but the update process should work the same. Good luck - it should work. It did for me. ***Disclaimer*** There's always a risk of screwing things up when using ADB or manually installing updates so do it at your own risk. Though Nexus devices are easy to revert back if you have problems. I won't be providing any further details on how to restore / recover if something goes wrong nor do I assume any responsibility.
