When traveling with Easy Roam on a plan, does the typical network handshaking trigger the Easy Roam charge?
I have data blocked on my account. If I do not make a voice call, or send a text, is the fact that my phone handshakes with the network enough to incur the daily (24hr) $10 fee?
If I were to receive a text while traveling, would this trigger the fee for that day?
What if I were to receive an incoming phone call from my home area?
Years ago, I was once bitten by excessive roaming access fees during travel in the US where simply having the phone turned on during travel incurred a roaming fee from every network that I passed through even when I did not make or receive a call. Each state carrier had a separate fee. I practically had to mortgage my firstborn to pay the roaming charges added on to my bill from the large Canadian carrier, who shall remain nameless.
I just wish to confirm that no Easy Roam fee is charged just because the phone is turned on, and NO calls and texts are made.
