Default storage automatically changing on me

I try to take pics with my camera and it first shows message saying can't be saved as default storage setting has changed to device so I go into settings and switch it to memory card like it has been and try it again and same thing happens. Now I have a 32 gb SD card in my phone and its showing only 12 gb is used Can someone help me? Phone is Samsung s5 neo

Hi Sarah, Try clearing the Camera cache and data. Go to Settings > Applications > Application Manager > MORE > Show system apps - scroll down and tap Camera. Tap Storage > Clear Data > Delete > Clear Cache. Start the Camera app. A pop up window say that an SD card has been inserted and will ask to confirm the storage location for photos, press OK. Location tags can be set up now or later. Tap the gear icon to get into Camera settings. Scroll down to Storage location to verify that 'Memory card' is showing. Let us know if this works.
It did then I tried to take a pic to verify it worked and back to the same issue. I took a screen shot but now it's not allowing me to upload it

Could be a defective SD card.

It's been working perfectly fine since July when I bought it

Another option, try to unmount and mount the SD card. Settings > Storage > SD card - tap the small circular blue/white icon to unmount the SD card. Tap SD card to mount the SD card. Could I see a screenshot of Storage, please?

Unmounting and remounting the SD card seems to be the trick...was still defaulted device changed to SD and tried a couple pics to see what would happen and no more message and the little micro SD icon shows when camera is open 🙂
