Cracked Nexus 4, touch screen wont work

Userlevel 1
Hi, I have a Nexus 3, I've had it for about a month and a half.. Today I dropped it for the first time and it broke.. The screen is cracked, just in the corner and a bit on the side, but the touch screen part doesn't work at all now.. Can my phone be replaced, does the warranty cover this? If not, what are my options and how much will it cost-ish? I used my whole Koodo tab on just a portion of this phone.. Took me a while to save up for it, so I'm pretty upset.. I didn't know they were so fragile

Do you have a Nexus 3 or a Nexus 4? I haven't heard of a Nexus 3, so you must have a Nexus 4. Physical damage is not covered by Koodo's warranty. You can send it in to get repaired, but you're looking at around $150. Your other option is to purchase a new phone. In my experience, unless you slam it down onto the ground the screen won't break by simple falling, unless it's from a high distance.

mine feel from a foot and a half and shattered .that's not a high distance to fall and found it broke very easily 😞

Sounds like you need a new digitizer. You should be able to grab one fairly cheap off ebay.

Be sure to watch the youtube videos showing how to properly change the digitizer on your model phone, and bid on the auctions that provide the tools (screwdriver, opener). You'll also need a hairdryer. In other words, do it yourself for around $40, or pay someone else triple-digits to do it for you! If you can put IKEA furniture together, you can repair your own phone.

Warranty doesn't cover physical damage. I suggest repairing the device if possible.

Jennie, find yourself a reputable repair shop in your area. If the cost is too high, then just buy a new phone from Koodo. I don't trust the cheap knockoffs on ebay.

I meant Nexus 4, and thanks guys! I ended up paying the old phone off and buying a new one 😞 Repairs cost too much for me, was cheaper to just go with a new phone, as warranty would be voided on the old one anyway!
