CRACKED CAMERA LENS

Hi Guys The camera lens glass on my phone was cracked within few weeks of having this phone. camera is working fine but it might not as there is piece of glass moving around. took it to memory express and been told that it is not worth repairing and never got any quote. I googled it and saw this is the common problem with this phone and asked on vodafone and other network communities around the globe. i also send this one to koodo repair same thing came back with the quote of $375 + taxes which is not worth repairing for sure. I have been turned down by samsung customer services as well and moral is Apple might have little bit less of technology but there customer service rocks and will not be buying samsung again. Any ideas fI can get it cheaper fix?

So you broke your phone and think you should get given a new phone because you damaged the one you have?

I dont read it that way. I think Rahul broke it (a googled weakness in the phone) and got the quote to fix and it was too expensive. Now Rahul is wondering if there is a cheaper place fix for the phone with this kind of damage.

You can check your local mobile repair shop. You might find a good one in your area. I went to 6 different shops to get quote for my son's phone. ( I also checked their reviews too) And I did find a good shop for repair 🙂

Depending on your level of technical expertise, you could try the repair yourself and save some money. You'll need the camera sensor itself, good lighting and a clean workspace, antistatic gloves, a heat gun, pry tools, a set of specialized screwdrivers and a lot of patience. There are a number of S5 teardown videos to familiarize yourself with this procedure. Just a thought.
