Contact list isn't saving names any more

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace, and some of the contacts in my contact list are no longer there (also, yes, I did not delete them). I tried adding the contacts back into the phone's list but they aren't being saved. I'm not sure what's wrong, but the short story is that I can't add any more contacts to my phone and some of them have been deleted somehow. Thanks for your help.

Go into the contacts app and click the menu button o the phone and go to settings. Then look to see if you have an option of what contacts to show and make sure you have Google contacts checked off. Log into your Google account online and make sure your contacts are there, if they are then go back on your phone to the settings menu of the phone and click on the Google account in settings, click your Gmail address hoping at the top and make sure contacts is checked off and then press sync. This should sync your contacts from your Google account back onto your phone.
