Circle with line through it icon?


My husband and I have the same phones, purchased at the same time (July 2013-Samsung S4), and three days ago both of our phones started showing a circle with a line through it in place of the signal strength icon. Only by re-starting the phone will the signal be reestablished. Why is this happening? This has never happened before. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Check Settings Wireless and Networks More Mobile Networks Network selection, It should be on automatic but you're going to change it to "Manual" Your phone will perform a scan which could take up to two minutes. After that you'll be presented with a list of available networks, Koodo and / or Telus should be one of those networks. Choose either (but chose koodo if available) , that should solve your dropout. Just be aware if you goto the states or outside of Canada, you'll need to switch this back to automatic
So I did the above and all seemed to be fine until 6:30 a.m. EST. This time I got the circle with the line through it, and I received a notice that the selected network Koodo is unavailable. What does this mean? Where is the problem? The phone tried "searching" for a network for 5 mins. No luck. I restarted the phone and it auotconnected.

You may be living at the very edge of a service area, or they may be a heck of a disturbance in the force...Err signal in your area. If you've had perfect service before now, you should contact koodo and log a service ticket. There may be a tower issue they aren't aware of and at least this way they can check it out. easiest way is to call then from your cell at *611 when you have a consistent signal. The call to tech support is free. Let us know what they say.

No.problem Here is their number in case you don't have a consistent signal: You can reach Customer Service at 1-866-99-KOODO (1-866-995-6636) or 647-788-4337. Hours of Operation Monday − Friday: 10am - 9pm Saturday: 9am - 7pm Sunday: 9am - 7pm  
Just got off the phone with Koodo. No problem on the network. We think the problem stems from app updates. Tech "pushed" the network. He will call me in two days, if we are still having problems, then we will have to Factory Reset. Will let you know what happens on Friday. Thanks again. You have restored my faith in the usefulness of forums. And I did a bunch of learning around my phone.
