China phone in north america

Userlevel 1
does anyone use a china phone that works with koodo? if so can you please name a brand / website from where you purchased it? Also, if you can provide your review of the phone and how it works in North America that would be wonderful. Thank you

Our budget for that type of research is somewhat limited... especially since just about all the phones on the market are made in China. 😉 Pick a phone that is AT&T compatible. Follow the table below for frequencies you will require for Koodo coverage.

Thanks. By china phones, i was referring to devices sold on ebay, or minideal.com etc. The devices have amazing specs, but i'm unsure about their compatibility with Koodo. I know that 90% of such phones may not work with Koodo, but i'm sure 10% do and i'm sure someone out there must have purchased them. That's what i was hoping that someone would share as an answer to my post. But this table is very helpful.

As long as your phone is compatible with UMTS850/1900MHz (Band 2/Band 5), it will work with Koodo 3G. If it has AWS (Band 4) for LTE, it will also work with Koodo LTE. I haven't seen anybody using XIAOMI in Canada. I see a lot of buddies using HUAWEI.

Hi Rick!

You can make sure your device works with us in all our network (if you have the IMEI) by clicking here: http://koo.do/1aU1u0o. Hope that helps 🙂

I've used Xiaomi phones and they have been excellent. Doesn't matter where you are in Canada in regards to the frequency bands used by Koodo.
