Charging paused. Battery Temperature too low?


I recently dropped my phone and ever since a message pops up when I try to charge it saying "Charging paused. battery temperature too low." So once my original battery drained I bought a new battery thinking the battery just died. The phone worked perfectly fine with the new battery but once the battery ran out and I tried to charge it the same message popped up. I'm thinking something is going on within the phone that wont detect the battery temperature. Has anyone else had this problem? How can I fix it?

A lot of these problems people are posting about have to do with the battery itself. I know there's nothing wrong with the battery since I've gotten a new one. There's something within the phone that's not working.

Hey Rebecca! Since you dropped the phone, the warranty will not work (as it doesn’t cover water and/or physical damages). You may have to buy a new one, by using your Koodo Tab (if available). I believe so. I bought it off someone on Kijiji. It says Samsung on it, looks just like my original battery and was still packaged when I received it.

A factory reset appears to be coming up a lot, but with varied results. Some say the factory reset works, while others say it doesn't and report a faulty temperature sensor either in the battery or a fault with the charging circuit in the device itself as the root of the problem. Still others have suggested getting an external battery charger and a spare battery so that you can continue using the device without receiving that message.

where can i buy an external battery? i saw some on amazon but i don't have a credit card

You may want to pay someone to order it for you. Not sure if they'll accept a Visa debit card, might be worth a try if you have one of those cards.
place the phone in the freezer for a couple of minutes to bring the processor and the battery temperatures closer. The phone should start charging again.

Have you tried it, what if my phone gets messed up because of that

I would not advise you to do this. Microelectronics can be sensitive to rapid temperature changes.

Have you tried a different charger that's suited for your phone?
I live near Barrie, where their is a company called Battery Doctor. They sell everything from watch and cell phone batteries, to heavy equipment batteries that take two guys to lift.

Do you a store like that near where you live? If you do, it may be worth a trip and they may be able to test the battery. It could be possible that the second battery you purchased, is a dead battery. It happens. If your phone is high end, it may be worth having Koodo send it out for a $25.00 fee to get the issue diagnosed.
