Charges of incoming Calls?

Hello,

I am a koodo user from Halifax, Canada. I am currently on the $35 300 mins 300MB plan and have been using it from 10 months . I know that this question has been asked many times but I have seen different answer hence I wanted to clear my doubts.

I was told my the sales person that my incoming calls will be free. However I have found out recently that my incoming calls whether local or international are not free. I understand they consume my free airtime minutes but once my airtime minutes are over do I get charged for incoming calls? Does this hold true even when I am in Halifax, Canada? Has it always been this way? Or is this a new change in the plan?

I have not been charged previously until last month where my bill is more than double of what i usually pay.

Thank you for your help.

Unlike certain European jurisdictions, incoming calls in Canada aways entail some expense, though regardless of their origin, they are always considered local calls, unless you are on some jurassic plan that covers local minutes only.

You can pay for them outright against your regular minute allocation, by picking them up only during your "free eve + wknd" period or by buying an add-on that will pass them thru at no charge.

Sounds like you picked up a few too many calls outside the free periods.

Sarfaraz, I see that you already called in today and we helped you out a bit. Looking at your service agreement, if yo still have it filed, this is what we showed you your plan included.

Incoming calls, outside your free minutes were never included. This past month you have indeed had a significant increase in the minutes you used which meant some overage charges over an above you plan rate. Hope this explains things.
