Cell Phone Switch Woes


I keep getting an error on my koodo account. I switched my cell phone number to my other phone on another phone provider, but I want to switch my koodo phone to a pay as you go. It needs a phone number. But all the menus give me an error message and I can do nothing. Help?

You have two phones on the same account.
Phone A you've already moved to another provider
Phone B you want to move to koodo prepaid.

right? Do you have a prepaid sim for Phone B? What error messages is selfserve giving you?
How can the phone I bought from another provider be on this account? I had my phone number switched to my new phone on my new provider, they did it for me. But the old phone still shows as having my old number on it and the error message I get is: System Error Please contact Client Care/Channel Care to enable your access. I want my koodo phone plan to be cancelled and to get a pay as you go plan so I can have this phone for emergencies. Do I need a new sim for that? 😕

I'm trying to help you but I'm confused How many phones do you have on Koodo? Did you port your number over to a new provider already?
I have one phone on Koodo. I already ported the number. When I told them I wanted to have my own phone number on my new phone they said they'd take care of it and now my new phone has the phone number I want. I wanted to make sure I had the old number on the new phone, so that my family and all my contacts wouldn't need a new number. And, its not that I am unhappy with koodo service, but I liked the phone and the plan being offered and since I already have my koodo phone all paid for I decided I could afford the new phone. I want to switch my koodo phone to a pre-paid plan so I can have it as an emergency phone in case anything happens to my new one. Or in case I want to sell it to someone? I don't know what the policy's are for selling phones from koodo.

Okay now I understand,

You need a new prepaid sim card for your old koodo phone. Then you can activate that on prepaid with a new number.

I just ordered a new cell phone from Koodo so I want my new cell to have all my old cell phone from koodo info. Including my current cell number. Do I just take my sim card outta my old cell and put it into my new cell?

To move your line over yes. As for info, I assume that you mean contacts and stuff? You should back it all up using Gmail or iTunes and then restore on setup with your new phone.

Your new phone will also come with a new sim card. If your old sim card fits in the new phone you can just swap them with no issues. If the old sim doesnt fit then you are going to have to contact Koodo to have your new sim card activated.

When you ported your number to the other carrier, that cancelled your service automatically

You'll continue to see that number in Self Serve for a while, but don't sweat it - it's canceled.

hello whom do i talk with about adding on more i went and bought a pre-paid car and when i ent t activate to had on to my 25 minutes i had left on my cell phone i had input the correct 19 digit number and i recieve i had the incorrect sim card and i seem to have problems with doing things now that i had changed my phone number and i had input my correct email address and i get told that that was an invalid email i only used just one email address so what is up with koodo? that they are not helping their customers like they are suppose to be a good company that is why I went with koodo , but apparently they do not do enough for their clients
