Cannot receive phone calls at home on 2 different phones

I have a Moto X Play with Koodo and my girlfriend has a Note 2 with Koodo under the same account as mine.

I am having an issue where - when I'm in my apartment I cannot receive phone calls. I can make them and I can make and receive texts, but whenever someone tries to call me a connection either doesn't start, it rings twice on their end and I hear nothing or it goes straight to my voicemail.

I can call other people on the Koodo network - BUT I can't call my girlfriend's phone and she can't call mine.

Anyone have any insight on this issue? I tested someone calling me when I was out and about and it was able to work where it wasn't before - so is my local tower messed up or something?

Are you in an older building? There could be interference from any number of sources.

Not too terribly old - we have been here about 4 years with no issues though.

I also have two lines with Note 2 and Moto X play. Koodo has issues working with Note 2. Sometimes it won't let people call me or it goes straight to voicemail instead. I'm looking to replace note 2. Note 2 failed me all over BC. Moto X play however works flawless. I have been using it for more than a month and still it holds the ground. Koodo So it could be some other reason with X play. Note 2 should be recalled by Koodo on the basis of bad network connection.

Download a signal strength meter such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cls.networkwidget

You may be able to find dead and/or hot spots within your quarters. I'm in a rural area, and the signal is passable outdoors, but need to be near a window indoors, and well away from metal blinds.

That type of issue with the Note 2 has been discussed here before.

My regular reception check shows fine and nothing has changed about the apartment in the meantime. If there was really an issue would ALL calling not be a problem?

So what am I looking for with that app? My LTE stuff shows up in the green in my apartment but what is GSM and CDMA?

CDMA is just a slower connection speed 3g

LTE is the data portion of the spectrum. GSM covers voice and some data overlap.

If you are showing green all around (~ signal strength equivalent to good) then it rules out problems simply related to your physical locale. It must then be an equipment or networking issue, since your phone is picking up a sufficient signal.

Gotcha. I'm not actually showing anything on either of the other two (aside from LTE, that is) but I'm guessing that might have something to do with my phone not reading those - because I don't get readings on them anywhere.

i had similar issue years ago before knowing about Koodo community . Called Koodo Tech Support and went through take battery and SIM card out and reinstall. Tech then did a diagnostic from their end and told me they did a reset and I was fine after that. Hope this helps

Yeah, I'll likely have to call tonight and see what's going on. My girlfriend will be at work during service hours but I can at least see if I can get going.
