Cancelling my old non-Koodo contract and keeping my number online


I just ordered a new phone because my old one with fido broke and I didn't want to stay with them. There was only a month or so left on my contract anyways. I asked fido and they told me that all I had to do to get a new phone at a different carrier (Koodo) was to go to them and they would cancel my contract for me. I ordered online and I selected "transfer my old number." I was wondering if this was all I had to do. Will Koodo contact me about cancelling my old contract or is it already done? Also, the phone number I put down is the number for my broken phone, so I hope they don't try and call me there. Thanks

Yes that was all you had to do.  By transferring your old number over, Koodo will cancel your contract with Fido for you.  No additional calls will be made.  Once the system has completed moving you over, you may get a text message saying on your new Koodo activation
