can't unlock samsung galaxy s3

I paid Koodo to get a code to unlock my phone. They gave me a code but it was unsucessful. I called koodo several times after that and they say they cannot do anything about that. This means my phone is locked to Koodo and I cannot change provider. Can someone help me please?

When I use 3rd party code providers, they offer refunds if you supply them with video proof of the unlock code not working. Seeing how Koodo has 1st party access to the databases, there is no reason that the unlock code should fail. Please be very careful when entering the unlock code. Most phones hide the entered value shortly after (like a password) - which is idiotic in my opinion but that's the way things are for some reason as most phones only allow you 10 attempts before becoming hardlocked.

Hey there Julie, try this:

Go to the Dial pad and dial *#197328640#

 •         Please click on number [1] UMTS > [1] Debugging screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] NETWORK LOCK
 •         You will see 3 options
 •         Please click on number [1] Perso Sha256 INFO, the screen will change slightly
 •         Please hit the MENU button then when the menu pops up please carefully hit BACK to return to the previous screen
 •         Please click on number [2] Perso Sha256 ON, the screen will change again to a one line message
 •         Restart the phone on the screen by holding the power button and click RESTART
 •         When the phone prompts for the unlock code simply enter the unlock code (The one Koodo gave you)
 •         The phone should be unlocked
