Can't send texts, only receive

i am using two phones, one sim card. Iphone5 and OneplusOne phone. I just switched to the OneplusOne and I can only send out texts. I can't receive? I have turned off Imessage on the iphone. Any thoughts or ideas?

Hi John,

If you try doing a hard reset of the device by pressing and holding the power button for 5-10 seconds it should power off completely. Turn it back on and try sending a text message to yourself and it should help, since you switched from one phone to another. Also iMessage shouldn't effect your OnePlus One since it is an android device.

Hope this helps
Thanks for the quick reply...not sure if your from Koodo lol but if so, thanks. I will try this although Ill have to see how to do a hard reset of this android phone. Ok I did as you suggested. Sent a text to myself. Seem to work. But thats not the issue. I am able to send a text to my friend and he replied but I never received. Thanks

If you are able to receive it from your own number it means you're having no issues receiving from another Koodo device. It may be an issue on your friends side of things. And no, I don't work for Koodo unfortunately, just an Android nerd 😛
Thank u! I thought it was due to my friend having imessage/iphone. but I just text another friend who has an iphone and he replied. So your right something isnt right with friends phone. Thanks for quick responses and resolve.

Ok, one more thing to check.....the friend whose text you are not getting.....ask them to see what colour is their reply...I know it sounds strange but if the text they send you shows up in a blue bubble their phone is trying to send you the reply via iMessage which of course with your android you wont get. Ask them to touch and hold the reply and it should ask if they want to send it as normal text message.

Oh that's right! I've never owned an iPhone so I wouldn't have even thought to suggest that. Good looking out 🙂
Oh cool! Thanks for that tip. I didn't know you could get it to ask 🙂 I knew the colors of course.
