Can't send SMS or MMS messages but can receive


New Koodo account already have others new phone for daughter set up the same as other in the family while it can receive SMS it does not appear to be sending sms and does not send or receive MMS why? And how do I get ahold of someone at Koodo? Samsung Galaxy S5 Active same phone as other family members used previously by me without these problems did factory reset have checked access point settings appear correct

Did it happen to sms/mms to all numbers or just a few? I would try to reset the network settings one more time, turn off the phone and turn it on.
Calling Koodo is indeed hard right now, holiday and backlog from previous promo. You could post problem here and see if someone can resolve it.
I thought I had posted the problem here I've changed network settings several times ones that were suggested by people here and went back to what they suggested which is the same as to other phones in this household multiple ons and offs and different people sent to and sent from the problem is nothing since from her phone either SMS or MMS and she can only receive SMS

I would suggest you reinsert someone else SIM card, that you knew working in your phone with sms/mms, and test with the phone.

It could be issues with the SMSC number. After testing with another SIM you could try:
    Go to your phone dialer Dial *#*#4636#*#* Go to Phone Information Scroll down to SMSC Enter +16475800172 Update

All of them are from Koodo?
Have you tried to reset the SMSC?

Yes they were all on Koodo, so different SIM cards in the same phone everything worked does that not mean that the smsc is correct

Of course I can and I will, but I'll repeat it again everything works fine with different SIM cards in there, Koodo SIM cards and I have checked the APN over and over again against the settings Koodo gave me

Could you post the rest as well? I'm mainly looking for apn type. If it's currently blank try entering "default,supl,mms" without quotes

APN type is not set, but like I said before it works with other Koodo SIM cards, it will send and receive SMS and MMS. With my daughter's SIM card, which is new,a Christmas present, in an S5 Active that I had used for a few months with no problems, it will receive SMS but not send them or at least nobody gets them, we've tried sending it to a half a dozen people, and it does not send or receive MMS. Three of the four phones in this house are Samsung Galaxy S5 the other two are working properly and so was this one yesterday before I reset it and opened it with my daughter's account. Data is working on other apps.

I'd contact Koodo then at this point. I can remember of one case where picture messaging wasn't provisioned onto the account and it seems to be account side at this point. I'd just try the apn type I suggested just for kicks and giggles but yea, contacting Koodo is likely your best option.

I tried this with and without your settings for the APN and switched SIM cards again no matter what phone her SIM card is in it will receive SMS but not send them and it will neither send or receive MMS. however if I put someone else's SIM card in her phone everything works fine SMS go both ways MMS go both ways. I can't see how it's anything but her account which is confusing as well since it will receive SMS but not send them.

I think it could be some issues at Koodo end. I would suggest you contact them and ask them to check her account at Koodo.
