Button malfunction; Home and Power

Hey Ive had this phone ( s6 ege ) since december 2015. Recently moved from fort mcmurray alberta where I bought it originally to my home back in nova scotia. Phones never been dropped honestly I really hardly use it with having my work phone too. Last night on my drive home I noticed my s6 edge light up and darken like 6 times in a row than it just stopped and never lit up until I got home ,checked it, and saw nothing. Even all my buttons were working! I checked and it had no notifications not even a voicemail. When I woke up today I now have no response from my home button. I was in a rush to get to work so I just ignored it for the time being and now my power button isnt responding. To wake my screen I have to plug it to a power source and use it. I will only assume its covered as a manufacturer defect.. or hope atleast!

Hey Coby, I'm sorry to hear that. If there is no obvious signs of physical or water damage. It can be sent for repair through Samsung. However, if they find any physical or water damage, they will give a repair quote to the store and they will call you if you agree or not. If the manufacturer didn't see any physical or water damage. There is no fee for you. By any chance did you get the Koodo Extended Warranty? If you did you can request a replacement through that too.
Yeah no theres hardly even a scratch on it I went looking for my contract too ill have to figure it out. Just figured I would throw it out there before I go to the store! Thanks erwin!

It might just be the battery since it works when plugged in. If it's removable on your particular model, take off the back, remove the battery, gently clean the contacts with a pencil eraser, and re-assemble.

Please don't attempt go take out the battery on your s6 edge. It is not removable, thanks Bob for the suggestion though 🙂
