I will be traveling for about 2 weeks between the USVI and BVI. No add-on plans seem a good fit for minimal use of talk and text. I expect 4 calls total to either local cell phones, Canadian cell phones in Canada or Canadian cell phones nearby
I my understanding is my phone will connect to closest country's cell tower.
Via self serve I checked Pay Per Use Intl Long Distance
add-on ($0/month) is included and got the add-on International Voice Roaming
($0/month) in order to call and text.
On my Nexus 4 (data settings) I disabled data roaming and background data.
Without any more add-ons, my understanding is ... with my phone on all the time, my ONLY costs for use of text and voice services that will appear on my bill will be "pay per use rates" at http://help.koodomobile.com/coverage-long-distance-and-travelling/travelling
-incoming texts will be free everywhere
-$5/100 outgoing txt while connected to a US (continental or USVI) tower
-$0.6 per outgoing text if on a BVI tower.
-Voice on a USVI tower $1.5/min
-Voice in BVI tower $2.5/min
-the text from BVI or USVI can go to a phone in CA, USA, USVI, BVI
Please confirm the above is correct.
Is there long distance charges in addition to the above rates for non-local calls?
How about calls to other cell phones from Canada that are on the same island network?
