Llkely due to its age. The phone came out back in 2015. The only way to "correct it" would be to purchase a compatible phone.

Here is a list of compatible Koodo devices:

My guess is that it's because it's an older phone and they won't put in the resources to make it compatible just yet if it even can be. As per the link below the CRTC hopes that all devices should be compatible by April 2019. Not sure how they expect that will happen.

You can also get alerts using the Weather Network App for each city you have subscribed to weather information. Does not work for 'Follow Me" sites, so not quite as functional as the Carrier-supplied alert.

Kind of not a helpful comment on my part which is a no no in the community but I have to say it's so great to see someone who is concerned they didn't get the very important alerts such as the one we recived last night that unfortunately ended very sadly.

I just wanted to say kudos Merlin, this made me very happy after seeing the ppl complaining online about being woken up by the amber alert when it was literally an attempt to save a child's life, thank you for being a great person and giving me faith again in humanity πŸ€œπŸΎπŸ€›πŸΎ
