There was a small update for it a couple weeks back but I haven't seen anything lately.

I just got my idol 3 ,  3 weeks ago. Maybe I have the latest 🙂
Have  firmware version  5.02-7SQ8-UD80   and my phone says it is up to date
Do you know what the current firmware version is?

Have  firmware version ...

That's the version I have as well, there is another update on the horizon but nobody knows exactly when it will reach Koodo's model all we can do is to keep manually checking for said update. Not a big deal of an update though as it just fixes a few bugs which I personally have not come across on mine.

As per AndroidCentral the OTA update was issued 13 July 2015 .   It also stated it may take awhile to hit everyone's device.  Hopefully it hits mine soon.
There was anothernew update released on Aug 10 in the USA we still haven't got the first ones

i tried that i did not work work it echos a lot when i am on the speaker . the echo is only for the person on the other end and not for me and it is very little when on earpiece but when i turn on speaker it echo extremely loud for the other person unbearable for them to talk to me. i need to use speaker as when i am driving . please help me out . i wish i did not update , can i go back to the old firmware somehow until this is fix.
Updated today works much better now. I was actually running a US ROM but the official Koodo one works much better so I flashed back. No more sluggishness and everything seems to be a lot more smooth especially typing and scrolling chrome! Thanks Koodo!

With all due respect, speaker phone in the car is Horrible for the other party. It's noisy and tinny and all kinds of awful. This device supports Bluetooth and great headsets are out there. You get used to then very quickly and will wonder how you made a call without one. Plus it's much nicer for your friend on the other end of the line.

yes that is correct but even if i use ear piece or i have headphone with mic it still echos for the other person. it is annoying but before it never did that. i need to use speaker but even if i use bluetooth it will do echo a little as it does with headphone. is there any way i can go back to old firmware

Usually the best thing to do after a software update if you have issues is to ;
Make sure your phone is backed up.
Then do a factoy reset.   and most of the time that will resolve your issue.

i tried talking with other callers echo is still their if i use ear piece and it gets worse if i use headphones with mic. the only way to make it no echo is get my ear fully cover the ear piece really tight. please help or get alcatel to get update to fix. I totally cannot use my speaker for calling. i have tried calling on viber and ear piece and speaker works totally fine so it means no hardware problem

The update did introduce some issues with the speakerphone but it also improved the overall smoothness of the interface. The echo does go away for me when I turn speakerphone off

yes that is right it is smooth but the echo problem is for the other caller and you cannot hear yourself it is still there on the ear piece if u ask the other caller and speaker is the worst.

Did you try turning off the JBL audio effects? That may help.

Chad I can't check because I am using a US ROM. I would flash back to koodo ROM if it has been fixed but do not want to revert back until it has been repaired. Thank you for the update Spence
So I just bought the idol 3. Anyone know if we're still getting updates? Or should I just switch to the US rom?
