You'll have to call koodo. *611 from your koodo phone. You can explain the situation calmly and it really is up to the rep if the charge will be refunded or not. As long as you're polite, there's a good possibility that they will refund the charge. 🙂

I think the reps need to be a little more wary of this data conundrum. There's another article (somewhat dated) where the client picked up a new phone (Nexus 4) and had been charged for data usage while the phone was still in the box. The money ($5) was eventually credited. http://community.koodomobile.com/koodo/topics/charged_for_data_while_new_phone_was_in_the_box_will_koodo_reverse_the_charge By factory default, the Moto G's mobile data feature is turned on and would be easy to miss since you're relatively new to the Moto G. Follow Daniel's recommendations and let us know of the outcome either way.

With all due respect Rikkster, I think people need take responsibility for their own actions. Accidental or not. If I get on the train thinking I paid my fare, when I didn't, do you think the conductor would simply let me off? I don't think so.

Thanks everyone. I will give them a call soon. I hope my record helps, as for the last 20 months, i havent used a single byte of data via cell. So this should prove to them that this was in fact a mistake! Chris- Thing is, Trains dont care about customer service, hopefully Kodoo does.

I do have to agree with Chris a bit. While this isn't really an example of abuse of things, there are other people who rack up massive bills then expect them to be wiped out because they "didn't know". People do need to start taking some responsibility for what they do. Companies good will can only go so far. Especially when things like a data block are available.

Completely different scenario altogether and I agree. However, someone with a brand new phone, not quite familiar with all the settings deserves a little leeway in my opinion.
Alrighty! Update time! Called in, explained the issue, asked for a one time write -off. The person look at a) my history of usage, and b) My credit history (do i pay the bills on time or not) and BOOOM!! Both were great! So he said they are going to let it go this time, provided if it happens again, i am responsible for it (obviously). So there you have it. Kodoo customer service, 2 thumbs up from me! Thanks everyone who posted here! I appreciate all the help i got! Cheers.
