7.50 data charge


I have a 7.50 charge on my last bill for data even though I have not uses any other than for MMS, which is part of my plan. This month I am also being charged 7.50 apparently for data .

You must have apps running in the background that suck data. Turn them off or some allow to be set to only work in wi-fi.

I am 100% sure that I do not have any apps that could use data. I have my data APN's limited to just MMS. This is very frustrating...

That's very strange.....does it happen only when you send pictures? Can you see the breakdown of data charges? Is it always the same amount....say $0.50 each time?

No, after one it jumps to 7.50 and then has never gone over after more.

So that it doesn't happen next month download the koodo app and make sure you check it frequently. It gives you all the info you need ie how much data you use how many minutes you have left in your plan texts etc.

I do have the app. And when I sent an MMS message it went up... Which makes no sense since I have that included in my plan. It was only a couple mbs....

Like it or not, something in your device is using data when the mms is enabled. Check your phone to be sure but your phone is bleeding data to some application. You have an android so be sure google services are set to not use background data. You can also download things like 3G Watchdog Pro which will allow you to get a better handle on when data use is allowed. Just because you set the APN type to MMS doesn't mean the phone is following your instructions, Some phones will default back to the standard APN once they are rebooted. I wish you luck finding the culprit apps that are piggy backing some data. Call Koodo and explain the situation and they may give you a credit. If nothing else, try to be connected to wifi when you send an MMS, that way when data does connect, wifi will keep other apps from using network data.
