Disable Voicemail Completely on Cell

I need to disable the voicemail on my cell phone as I use simultaneous ring on my home phone and when my cell phone is turned off the cell phone voicemail will pick up first before my voicemail on my home phone will. So I need it disabled as soon as possible, and I can't find a way to disable on the Self Server website for Koodo. Thanks.

  • There is no way to permanently disable voicemail on one of koodo's phones, it's part of the basic plan. Customer service can temporarily turn it off, but eventually the system will notice the error and automatically correct it.
You can try changing the call forwarding settings on the phone though. Most phones are set to forward automatically to voicemail when busy, unanswered or unreachable. Disabling these call forward modes might effectively stop your voicemail, but I've never tried it so I don't know for sure.

I posted this after business hours and reading all of the articles in the community that it is impossible to remove voicemail. So I called them today, and had no problem disabling voicemail on my cell so that my simultaneous ring on my home phone which rings my cell works properly. When someone calls, and my cell phone is turned off, my voicemail on my home phone will pick up.

    Thanks Koodo.

  • I just phoned them to permanently disable my voicemail. They told me that they could do that.
I asked them if this was only for this billing cycle and if it would be activated again with my next invoice. I was told that it is permanently disabled and would only be activated again if I phoned in and specifically asked them to enable it.
    Will see....
